What Affiliate Network To Join

by Melvin · Aug 3, 2008

affiliate networkThis is the second part of the series called Niche/Affiliate Marketing. I nearly forgot that I am doing a series here so pardon me if this one came after a month. The first part is niche research which you can find here

So you have now find a niche that you will be targeting what’s next? Obviously the next one is picking an affiliate program to use. This one should be very easy as most of the known affiliate network are legitimate. You can always sign up as many affiliate networks as possible. This is also because some networks are picky in terms of affiliates and sometimes you will get rejected. Another thing is to play around the networks you have chosen. Affiliate programs have different looks, pay differently, track not the same as the other and so. It’s important to know everything about the network. Remember to be focused on the niche of your choice. If you have done your research properly, you will probably have an easy time promoting high converting products. Here are the list of networks I have used and made money:

  • Commission Junction – Probably one of the oldest networks here. They are proven to be a great affiliate network and they also have a very large marketplace. They are a little picky in terms of products to promote and it depends on what methods you use.
  • Pepperjam Network – they have just started this year and they are overachieving. I have made a post last month on why they worth a look from everyone. They uses Web 2.0 and advanced tracking. There are also some big advertisers on them (such as playboy, disney and so). And we had a partnership that has extended until August in which publishers who sign UNDER me will get a $10 bonus signup.
  • Clickbooth – another network that pays very high. Clickbooth is one of the networks that has large list of email and zip submits. Most of it pay $1.5 for zips only. I know some people making millions w/zip submits. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And another thing is that they have seemed to recover to the criticisms and frauds that most people say about them.
  • AzoogleAds – this is probably the best one if you are going to ask top affiliate marketers. They also have a large marketplace and they are combination of Clickbank and CLickbooth and PepperJam. Problem is they don’t likely accept affiliates outside US and Canada. We’re disqualified dude!
  • Market Leverage – has almost dominated the blogosphere these past months when they started sponsoring contest like a mad man! The control panel of theirs is a bit confusing but is very informative. I haven’t had much success w/Market leverage maybe due to the fact I am pressured to win most contest. ๐Ÿ™‚

That are the top networks for me. Well actually that is what I have used and had made me some great money. But of course there are plenty others who so much worth a look. Clickbank, Moreniche, Copeac and etc. What I have included are the networks that I feel newbies can use and they can learn a lot from it while making some decent money… I hope I made everything clear. ๐Ÿ™‚

Top Commentators, Prizes and Incentives

by Melvin · Jul 31, 2008

So again I am stucked on a very busy weekend with all people making me look like a slave. Like what I have done last month I have given the top commentators some gifts back for commenting a lot. Last time it’s an ebook about incentive marketing. This time it will be entrecard credits and one will get a free advertising on this blog via a link. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you do not, I just won a contest on Grademoney’s blog and I won 5000 entrecards from Bloggernoob who will also do a review on my blog.

Also I was able to finally receive the Atomic Blogging package worth $37 which I have won Carl Ocab’s Contest. The ebook is a great book and there are some items there that is well worthed. Another thing to say is that I will doing some incentive marketing here on my blog and on some forums. Incentive marketing is something that I have NEVER tried before so i think i’m gonna try to put up some efforts to it. This one is a great and busy week with some great post from all over the world. Check them out:

  • Jim pointed out how to embed image that can attract readers (Very great read)
  • Jason has put up a great and self improvement post on how you should make money online
  • Tom writes a great article on how to manage multiple blogs
  • Craig has compiled his list of his top blogs (look who’s there ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Now who said its bad to give a lot of outgoing links? ๐Ÿ˜‰

To Live And Die With DP

by Melvin · Jul 29, 2008

Digital PointYesterday I was playing a little in Digital Point Forums. I am trying to surf all places there and I can really see how much the site is getting traffic. As you can see DP forum has about 100-150,000 uniques a day. That is just simply wild! Well with the forum, I can see a lot of people just lurking around there and spending a lot of time there and hey they’re making a lot of money.

I can say i testify on it. I believe that DP has enormous money making opportunities there. Back summer April and May I spend a lot of time to it, Advertising and Link Sales in particular. What you need there is to be really quick and a bit luck. You always have to be the first or second. About 30% of people there are looking to buy and hire something. Many people are looking for things to be done in a timely manner and those guys usually go to digital point. Aside from doing it directly, you also eliminate the middle man and both will surely benefit from it. So just take a look at those people who are good with doing logos and images. You see every minute there’s almost a new client asking for a logo. And I believe for these experts they can craft great logos in less than 5 minutes or so. You can also establish a great long term relationship with some people there.

The downside only though, is that since you do it directly, sometimes you run and chase people for payments. You also have to fight scammers there and those who are just out there to make a quick buck and leave. That’s why looking for an itrader always makes sense. Overall it’s really good to spend time there. So what say you? You may probably want to enter making money online, but too lazy to do affiliate marketing. Besides blogging won’t make you rich. Maybe trying to live and die with Digital Point is the next best thing!

Thank You Sponsors!

by Melvin · Jul 28, 2008

I have been thinking since last week to have a “thank you sponsor” page and since I have sponsors I think this one really worths it. Besides I think they deserve it because they have trusted this site even when this was with no pr before and a little traffic. So I would like to give them appreciation by making a blog post with a little description w/them.

Ad Blocks

  • Online Invoicing For Freelancers – FreshBooks is an online invoicing and time tracking service that saves you time and makes you look professional – Fortune 500 professional. I have used it before and it’s highly recommended.

  • – is a site that teaches and gives some starting lessons on internet marketing. The site looks a “get rich quick” site but I think this still worths a look.
  • – Is a fellow blog that is not a make money online. Instead it focuses on marketing, blog design, blogging tips and SEO. One of the blogs I read before I sleep.
  • – A incentive site that pays people to complete offers. They also pay 20% for referral commissions

Text Links

  • Top Pick Work From Home – Basically a site of what its name suggests. There are tons of work from home opportunities there so if you feel lazy about having office then this one worths a look.
  • Get Paid For Posting – The forum that pays you for posting. It’s a great opportunity for people wanting to earn residual money or startup income.
  • Seo Services – Seo company that provides SEO services to those who do not know anything about SEO
  • Website Templates – A startup site that is making and designing templates for your website.
  • Nursing Board Exam Results – A site with the results of Nursing Board Exams here in Philippines. You might think this one is not related but it is. I am a Filipino and the 4th most country that refers traffic is the Philippines

As you can see not all are advertisers. Some are affiliate links but they are not too many. In the future, I would consider hosting the ads with my own server. I am settinh up Openads now and it should be up by next month. How about you? Do you value your advertisers?

The PR Update, Announcements And More

by Melvin · Jul 26, 2008

Well well well, another busy weekend anew with all the studies and all the responsibilities being an officer of the computer organization of our university. But well at the end of the week I have pretty some great news for myself. Well the PR update who has long been speculating has already took place. This blog has now a page rank of 2 (though it deserves more of a pr 3) and my basketball blog who has been slapped before because of selling do follow links is also back with it’s pagerank. My rival Alkorani got a pr3 and most of us in the blog premiere got a pr2. Not bad for not promoting too much.

I always believe that the algo of page rank isn’t the same as before. Before it is so damn easy to get a pr. Link exchange there, reaching top commentators, commenting on dofollow blogs. I can say it’s now different. Although you can still get some value there, it isn’t like before. That’s why I don’t believe on what Tnx.net is saying about gaining pagerank points. As search engine marketers become smarter, so as Google. Google has distinguished valuable dofollow pr’s from not. The “in” thing for getting tons of backlinks and pr is try making a widget for your site and distribute it around your community.

Another announcement is that I am now putting entrecard back to where it is. Why? Because entrecard doesn’t really deserve the advertising sidebar. Although some bloggers like Flimjo puts a huge emphasis on it, the value of advertisers there aren’t really going to brand your blog. It’s hard to take a look at the advertisers and reject the unrelated ones so I am just surprised to see someone sporting porno on entrecard widget. Where is it before? It’s under everything. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The last thing is that I am looking for a Chief financing officer. Well we are running a company based here on Philippines about freelancing and SEO. It has been planned since January and although looks like everything is set, we are still going to wait for next year to launch. We are preparing so hard for it and we do hope everything will work out fine. I also look for some coders but i think DP has a lot of that. You can directly contact me if you know one

Don’t Bother With PM’s From Your Blog

by Melvin · Jul 24, 2008

Since I have started this thingy I am always receiving tons of message from the contact form that are pissing me a lot. I’m not an impatient person but of course I don’t like craps. As this blog is getting read by more and more kids people there are also other things that are not so good to my eyes. Like the number of spams I am starting to receive and of course the messages from the contact form.

The purpose of the contact form is to contact. Sometimes my friends do not know how they can reach me so I put this one up. That’s also there for business purposes. But when is something not business related? Let me tell you a story. Sometime last month someone contacted me saying that their company is holding some promotional measures and would do me a free banner and logo in exchange for a linkback. During that time I think my header is fine but still I was like “Wow someone seems to be interested in my blog” But then the thoughts of beautiful design ala UniqueBlogDesigns was thwarted when the sample was given to me. It’s SO ugly that the drawing of a chicken could even look better than it. I swear! After that, I no longer respond. But that certain kept on sending me mails. After a week, they are already three! They all promote the same thing with the same company. Wow!

So things like that started off like comets falling here on earth. Most are asking/offering me about their services(which isn’t bad)! And a lot has been promoting untested networks with their affiliate links and wtf, their is even someone there saying she wants to be my husband! I guess this is really how things go. I can now understand how big and established guys and companies are having hard time dealing w/it. Before i am used to checking my email in this blog everyday, now it’s once a week and sooner it will be once a month!

I thought MarketLeverage is already done sponsoring contest but then they are still not. Let me see how I am going to fare with the contest. I think this is gonna be a great on especially for some beginners. ๐Ÿ˜‰
