Oh My, Pay Per Click!

by Melvin · Sep 22, 2008

Hard times! I was doing some hardcore pay per click the past 2 days with a certain offer from Copeac and although I was not really failing that bad, it still didn’t look well in my eyes. Basically I had about 5 different campaigns there each with 600 PHP daily budget ($10+) and each of the campaigns have different ad types. I have been focusing on some email and zip submits that pay $1.55 per conversion. On some, I was doing dating niche that pays $3 per signup. I guess since I took a break on Pay per Click I really had my skills declined a lot. Although I was never really that succesful in ppc, I always enjoy it. It’s not really easy to get your ad in front of 20,000 impressions per day for free.

Well going back, I think the first day was a complete flop as I never really noticed my ads were disapproved by not complying to the quality guidelines. The dating try was really a flop! I was paying the max of $7 CPC per a $3 offer! The dating has became more saturated and its just harder now! A certain email submit was doing well as i net $26 on 1 1/2 days w/me spending $15 on that campaign. Here’s a quick look (Click for larger image) :

And here’s the adwords cost:

So, what I made in that email submit is $26.35 and the cost for everything is 1,000 PHP ($30). Not bad! Well I do really hope for something better than taht! If I would be losing money in PPC, I would be elated to accept it if I learned from it ๐Ÿ˜‰

How bout you, how’s your PPC campaigns doing?

Publisher Spot – Professional Reviews Of Ad Network

by Melvin · Sep 16, 2008

This is a paid review sponsored by Tyler Cruz

These days there are tons of things that exist. I mean even in an offline world you’ll probably come across with a lot of stuffs that boast all the same portfolio but you’ll never really know unless you do a research. Same as online! When I was starting out I was like joining and joining every of all these affiliate and ad networks in hopes that the more I have joined, the more I would earn. And definitely it’s a flop most of the times. I guess this is where Publisher Spot comes in.

Publisher Spot is basically a site that provides “informative” reviews of all of these networks and companies that an online entrepreneur should look to. I know Publisher Spot when it was in its early days. Honestly I thought it was just like one of those “run of the mill” sites that provides reviews, everything positive so that people would get in there, sign w/that affiliate link and boom profit! But then it was not

The site has a clean layout, and a sleek design. The reviews are done superbly! I mean when I look at the reviews there’s even a thing at the sidebar wherein there are details about the program. The creatives, Payment Methods, Minimum Payout, Payment frequency which I think is a very great thing. I find the review great and not biased. How hard it is not to get biased on something? ๐Ÿ˜‰

The review and commenting also works for those who have an account. I think it’s great that he had only supplied it for those who are registered with the site. This prevents proxies who could just easily game the rating system. Actually these new features is something that for me had made the site way way better. The site also has a forum, which I doubt that will gain any attraction and a blog. The easy navigation of the site is great and I just like it. It makes it easier for those who are newbies and maybe we can remove the word “confusing” when we’re talking about the layout.

All in all I do feel its a great project. To be honest I had something like this long planned way back last year and that it never took off because of lack of commitment from me. I commend Tyler’s effor to produce this site that many newbies starting could surely benefit from. The only thing I didn’t like much is this:

Although they are selling advertising on Publisher Spot, they are not flaunting it. The only link to itheir advertise page is at the bottom so I think its another nice idea rather than to put it uptop, announce it and have there reputation tarnished. Well I know a lot of blogs have already said their piece about it. I think its a great overall project as well as a reference for a lot of aspiring internet marketers. A great job by Mr. Cruz

The Huge Value Of Testing Stuffs

by Melvin · Sep 8, 2008

Most people underestestimate the value of testing different stuffs. I mean most don’t even know they should test things. Testing plays a key role not only in online business but also in every aspects of life. Sometimes, it can be risky and most of the times it will help us learn and gain knowledge based on what we have observed. With affiliate marketing, I really love to test stuffs out. I mean when I was doing Adwords early this year I was very receptive on committing mistakes and learning from them. I put up different landing pages and different color schemes and see how they flop!ย  On that way, you know you could do better the next time.

There are tons of ways wherein you can test something and do a case study. Like for instance in this blog, when I was promoting Pepperjam Network here. I think I made over $100 with an affiliate banner at the sidebar (when there are few advertisers yet). Why is that so? Basically I just rotated every type of ad that Pepperjam gives. I give my users different views of the ads which I think have helped both of us. What you are needing to do is make your users avoid banner blindness wherein they just go w/your site and say “these banners again”. That’s why as much as possible I ask for different types of ads from advertisers so that they can maximize their exposure from this blog.

Now someone can say “It’s risky to test things and I don’t think I can afford it”. Well its true but most of the times it is not really as risky as what you might ever think of. What you have to do is always look and observe what you’re visitors are doing. How they respond to it. It’s easy sometimes to say, “oh what I did doesn’t really make much sense” but you will benefit a lot from it on a long term basis. How if it doesn’t work? Then it doesn’t work, leave it! If you believe you have exerted a better effort with stuffs that flops then you can always drop it and start again. I know many are afraid but it’s just business and life I think. You will succeed and you will fail

I know some of you also do testing and some “under the microscope” experiments. Maybe you can share yours and what you have learned from it.

The PepperJam Bloggers Incentive Program

by Melvin · Aug 25, 2008

Last July you probably have read that PepperJam Network is really one of my favorite affiliate network around the web. Last month I made $152 from it w/o using PPC and some risky advertising. All I did was to exert efforts on doing things that I can do myself. This month I though was pretty cool, the first 5 days of August netted me $52 and looking where things are heading, I became ecstatic.

pepperjam

So, what is this PJN Bloggers Incentive Program? It is simply a program wherein a blogger is get paid for writing a post about pepperjam for certain topics (like this one). Of course, you can’t just make a junk post and everything that you’ll write about them will be carefully reviewed. Then they’ll pay you a bonus $10 for doing it. And wait, you can do five a month, which means a residual $50 for you. Why they are doing this? Simple, bloggers are the lifeline of affiliate networks and well I can just imagine how much they are making from them. For me, it isn’t hard to endorse PJN because on my experience it has been a great money maker for me month and month and months. I have seen some of my friends make more than me and I haven’t heard some complaints about them.

Remember the July partnership that I had with PepperJam Network? Yes, actually they are paying accepted affiliates $10 just for signing up. If you didn’t know it has just been extended until August. Yes, August! A lot of people are always asking me, “can I get the $10 immediately?” of course not! I believe you have to wait for a month before you can take it. But why just wait if you can multiply it? Well, let’s see. I talked with their CEO about having some contest sponsored by them and they want to know more about it. Also I am doing an ebook about it.

What Makes You Rich The Most?

by Melvin · Aug 7, 2008

So obviously you didn’t came here saying blogging is your primary source of income right? Also you’re not planning to do it by blogging. I was looking at different blogs and different people and seeing they were making a lot of money doing things very far from blogging. We all know it’s impossible to make a living out of blogging. Yes, some people do it, name them, Darren Rowse, John Chow and more. But the thing is its very hard to duplicate the feat they have achieved. When they started, they were not so many people doing it so they were getting a lot of attention and exposure. Today, you can always write a great post and no one can still read it. That’s how www is very competitive right now.

Back to the question, what’s the thing that had made you tons of money? or maybe the most money? Some do well in joint ventures, freelancing, offering professional services and so. As many of you know, I had made some success with Affiliate Marketing. Isn’t really big, but a three figure income a month is always better than nothing. And besides that is doing it part-time. You can see, people get what they want based on how focused and determined they are. Most people fail because they tend to do tons of things at once and the result is they never accomplished any of them. My word of advice is, do what you think you’re strength is! You code superbly, then why linger with affiliate marketing? You write like a god, then why not go with freelancing? For me it’s just how those things work. Many people see always the value of having multiple streams of income but what they never see is if they can sustain positive results from them or just waste their time and effort.

How bout you? What makes you rich the most? I know you have blogs (and you won’t be reading these if you don’t have one) and that’s what you share with your readers (and that’s what pay your bills and hosting). Maybe you can share it.

Why Pepperjam Worths A Look

by Melvin · Jul 15, 2008

Update: As many people still ask me so I will now say it again. The $10 signup bonus is extended until August so hurry now and sign w/pepperjam under me…

PepperJam Network is an affiliate network by affiliate marketers themselves. One thing that got into my mind was this is interesting and worths a look.. Well I have joined pepperjam network early this February and have made earnings from them all through out.

pepperjam

As you can see I’m not a super affiliate, not even a good affiliate. But heck for a small person like me, earning $40 onwards a month on a single affiliate program really helps a lot. Well back to the PepperJam, they are using web 2.0 in terms of all. They call themselves “the next generation affiliate marketing” because they offer industry leading SID-level tracking and reporting – this robust technology is especially beneficial to search marketing and sophisticated super affiliates that want to take advantage of the most up-to-date technology available to track at the keyword level. The interface looks so much nice. Another thing I have liked is the PepperJam Chat (any other aff.program that has it?) There was one time I was making gold on a dating merchant there, then all of a sudden it drastically goes down. I have had chat with the merchant himself and he said they have changed some of the terms. You see, this is a feature that is very important. Being able to talk with the merchants themselves. You can certainly ask all questions you would like.

They have hundreds of merchants and more probably it will increase more. The thing here is just to focus on you’re market and then target your potential customers. So, if it’s still not enough for you then this might change your mind. Pepperjam and I (and some affiliates) had a great partnership. Everyone who will sign under us will get a $10 sign up bonus. This means you may not get this one if you directly there. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you still had any doubts then you can ask your questions in the comments section.

RevResponse Looks Good!

by Melvin · Jul 3, 2008

So last Monday I was contacted by a friend highly recommending RevResponse Program. Sure I know this one seeing on some established blogs. I have also seen some post about it. After signing I immediately play with it and have seen that they are giving everyone a lot of potential in making money with this program. Actually after some days of experimenting with it I’m not surprised to see that I already have incurred $30ย  for just 3 days.

Before everything else what is RevResponse? RevResponse is simply a site that supplies free white papers and catalogs and let publishers get compensated for giving them so. They are working on a CPA basis. It’s very attractive because it’s for free. You can get paid for giving your audience free resources. How much do they pay? They pay $1.50 per complete signup and usually some advertisers are paying more depending on your conversions. Revresponse offers a lot of free resources in different industry but most are business related.

Actually they require nothing for signup. No minimum traffic or whatsoever. In terms of placing banners they do the whole process for you. The banners are javascript so it surely would take a slight toll on your site. Another thing is that RevResponse gives you a unique site for promotion of all this catalogs. It is something like “http://publishername.tradepub.com. In my case it looks like this. So overall I can conclude that it’s a good program. The thing here is that most people love free resources and would surely and easily bite in this offer very easy. The only thing that I will do now is wait for my payment. They pay every 45 days in which for me is not good. ๐Ÿ™ All in all I don’t see anything wrong the program. How about you? You read this blog everyday and maybe you can tell me something more about Revresponse!
