Ok if you have been following this blog, you will notice I have not been doing much of the mainstream link-love. One reason is that I just don’t like doing it. But one thing I’ve learned about doing link love is that its just helpful for readers as well. In my own experience reading link love posts, it’s helpful for me in a sense that it actually lets me discover new blogs with great content. Basically you really don’t know all helpful blogs and you’ll also never know a post that probably can struck you the most so reading those kinds of posts helps me find great content sites that I don’t actually know or haven’t read yet.
For my version of the best posts of the week from the blogosphere:
- How to Create Information Products that Sell Like Hotcakes – Gyutae from WTW wrote a great post not just about creating info products but also why creating info prods. Personally I hate the “ebook” thing and it kinda sucks for me but after reading the post, it made sense to me.
- Why new bloggers shouldn’t post everyday – Khena from MMblog basically put up a nice post which I can say a must-read for newbies. New Blogger should not post everyday and I think its a big misconception for most people that if you’re new, you must put up content day after day.
- Intense Debate: RSS vs. Email – Mr.Gambling Gamble wrote a nice debate post whether an RSS or email subscriber is more important. It highlights both the pros and cons and its interesting too how his readers fared with it.
- Affiliate Marketing With No Startup Cost – theaffiliate (or whoever he is) puts up a walkthrough article on how to do affiliate marketing with literally no startup capital except for the popcorns you are going to eat. I actually hate to do things he highlighted but again when you don’t have the money, you have to pay with your effort and time.
Those are the top posts of the week. So for the top commentators last month, I had a surprise for you. 😉 Actually its not a surprise. Before I really give incentives to top commentators but I guess it requires a lot from me so I decided to give it a break. The guys here will get a free text link on this site for one month which ideally costs $5. (shoot me a private message) Here they are:

Blogosphere Update
The January month was a great month for the blog growing with over 6000 uniques and over 20000 pageviews. The feed count also got a spike. In case you just missed reading this blog for the whole month of January, I would like to say that there is an ongoing contest happening here with over $700 in real prizes. There are considerable entries but hey there would be 18 winners and you might not want to see an agressive guy getting it all, right?
Chilly chill chill!
Thanks a lot for the link love Melvin.
And good luck with your 2009 contest! 🙂

Rowell Dionicio’s last blog post..Create Custom 404 Pages in WordPress
It does. It varies on the affiliate network but you can always make an exception by contacting your affiliate manager with regards to that matter.
yeah but I want it to see on a more consistent basis. 😉
I am thinking of plunging into this business myself. Thanks for the tip.
How do I get to know affiliate managers?
Thanks for the link love Melvin. I absolutely love reading the content that you provide for your readers.
Donny Gamble’s last blog post..OnePoke.com : Social Networking Evolved
really? hehe thanks… 🙂
Desmond, thanks for finding my post helpful. Right now it’s true that some networks are starting to disapprove free blog, but like Melvin said you can contact your AM’s. How? Normally when you sign into an affiliate network you’ll be assigned an affiliate manager. Your AM’s will send you a welcome email I believe so then just save their contact info. Or more recommended to save their AIM and have a chat with them to develop a closer relationship
A couple of those links are pretty interesting…particularly, why new bloggers shouldn’t post everyday (something that I firmly believe) and the RSS vs. email debate (which I personally don’t really see the debate but it is an interesting read.)
Leo dimilo’s last blog post..Take Back Your Life…How to Get More Traffic to your Site With Just One Post a Week..
Thanks for the link love showing you appreciate your readers efforts.
Those are all some pretty awesome posts – I’ll probably check them out later when I’ve got some free time.
