By now you probably already have learned that guest posting is a powerful way to drive crazy high quality traffic to your site. I’m not just talking about the hits here, I’m talking about traffic that could easily become one of your subscribers, more importantly your customers. Guest Posting really is going to do the job for your blog in terms of getting more publicity.

So because a lot of people already knew it and learned it’s benefits, it seems that every blogger in every corner is sitting, focusing and writing a guest post for the big blogs in their niche. But the question is, are they getting success by actually getting their post/s qualified? Or is it the owner of the other blog think their guest post suck?

Ok I will talk from experience here. Probably you have seen me and my blog on some other blogs having a guest post so it’s pretty obvious guest posting is my blog project since late last year. But I am going to confess that for every 5 guest posts I write, less than 50% gets accepted. For every 10, it’s just 4 and yeah it’s painful especially thinking about the time I spent writing and writing only for the author to say it has not met the qualifications. *sucks*

So that was my experience early this year when I was just totally new to guest posting. Obviously I have improved a lot but the question is what to do next when you get rejected? (ok, no list in this post guys!)

The answer is just keep on going. I know other people would say try to analyze, learn and improve but I think it’s just all about keeping on writing. I’d tell you’d be surprised on how just writing alone could unknowingly improve your way of writing. I love reading my old posts and it always amazes me how many stupid mistakes I have done before even though I (think) have a good english grammar (for someone who lives outside the US).

It’s ok to feel bad but that should never keep you from trying. Bloggers have different styles, so they also have different requirements, different take on whether the article is good or crap. If you’re guest posts got rejected then go ahead and submit it others. If its still discarded then don’t delete it from your hard drive. Even if it piles up there it’s still going to do you wonder by letting you become a better writer.

Hmm! I write guest post very few times but luckily never got rejected. But If I get rejected I will do three things.

1. Write a new article (I will not rewrite the rejected article even if blog owner asked to do so)and send it the blog owner.
2. I will give the rejected post to some other blog owner.
3. If he rejects too, I will use it as my own post.

PS: I will not even ask the blog owner, why he rejected it. I will ask him what other topics can I write on. As Melvin said Keep Going On.

It’s great that you have that attitude, and you’re right you do have good grammar for someone who isn’t a native English speaker. Personally I find that letting your personality shine through, as you do, is far more important than grammar anyway. And you’re right – the more you write the better you get!

Yep but most blogs still consider having a perfect grammar post rather than having a good post which is kinda sad.

I have only written one guest post and what I did was pitch a post idea to the blogger and when he accepted it, then I wrote the article. This saved me the effort of writing an article that might not get accepted.

You have no choice but to continue moving on. You have to continue working on your own blogs. In addition, you need to keep trying to get your Guest Posts accepted.

Just remember to have tough skin and your blog may or may not be accepted, If not accepted, I would use it as my own blog post or post it on article submission sites like Ezinearticles.com.

I say most of the ‘blog tips’ are just useless..atleast that’s what I see. But, seriously, ‘this ‘is an amazing and true tip! Great writeup and definitely ‘WE’ have came across a far way now

Good luck, Melvin and keep writing such personal-experience posts. I have made mistakes and whenever I open my older post archives; I realize how stupid they were… sometimes I felt bad, sometimes unfit. But, there was always an room for improvement Of course, I still suck at English but am never gonna give up John chow is improving and so am I..

Some very popular sites have post their guest blogging guidelines, so I’ve learned to look for that first. Then it’s up to me to write a guest post that meets the site owner’s expectations. I’ve had some who were kind enough to “tweak” my guest post if it wasn’t 100% what they were looking for. But I know that many do not. I haven’t had any rejected yet. But when I do, I’ll just use it on my own site, re-purpose it in my e-newsletter, or post it at EzineArticles.com.

Ask why its rejected ?, due to bad language or unacceptable subject or any other reason.

My first guest posts are rejected, then i asked why its rejected, then they said me the problems, i corrected it.
