Oh My, Pay Per Click!
Posted on September 22, 2008 by Melvin
Hard times! I was doing some hardcore pay per click the past 2 days with a certain offer from Copeac and although I was not really failing that bad, it still didn’t look well in my eyes. Basically I had about 5 different campaigns there each with 600 PHP daily budget ($10+) and each of the campaigns have different ad types. I have been focusing on some email and zip submits that pay $1.55 per conversion. On some, I was doing dating niche that pays $3 per signup. I guess since I took a break on Pay per Click I really had my skills declined a lot. Although I was never really that succesful in ppc, I always enjoy it. It’s not really easy to get your ad in front of 20,000 impressions per day for free.
Well going back, I think the first day was a complete flop as I never really noticed my ads were disapproved by not complying to the quality guidelines. The dating try was really a flop! I was paying the max of $7 CPC per a $3 offer! The dating has became more saturated and its just harder now! A certain email submit was doing well as i net $26 on 1 1/2 days w/me spending $15 on that campaign. Here’s a quick look (Click for larger image) :
And here’s the adwords cost:
So, what I made in that email submit is $26.35 and the cost for everything is 1,000 PHP ($30). Not bad! Well I do really hope for something better than taht! If I would be losing money in PPC, I would be elated to accept it if I learned from it
How bout you, how’s your PPC campaigns doing?

$10 per day is too big.. hmm.. why not just advertise on other blogs like purchasing banner ads or text links..

because its not usual to make $50 in 3 days w/banner advertising

You will not be able to match the number of visits from banner ads.. PPC visits will give you more value and ROI

Oh, copeac is damn great. I mean the simplicity of the network and its huge offers always attract me. Good you’re promoting them.

PPC is a long hard road. I am still trying to get my head around it but I think it’s just a matter of practice and lots of testing. Big money can be made but a lot can be lost as well if you don’t know what you are doing.

I have yet to break ground in the PPC area. I am working mainly on marketing my blog through entrecard and commenting. I will eventually get into this world, but I am not quite ready for it yet.

Wow, I’m sorry that you had a loss there. Well anyway, I guess it’s the experience that counts, eh? I currently do not have any campaigns, but I might start one soon (I think later rather than sooner… lol) for an affiliate program too.

Just keep thinking of it as a learning curve. If you keep this up you’ll only keep getting better and better as you go on. It will be worth it in the end.

Although you made a little bit of a loss there, if you can keep tweaking your campaigns I’m sure it will turn around soon for you. At least you’re not down the entire $30!
I think I’ll probably give PPC a try at some point in the future, once I have made enough money online to fund it that is…

If you take up an offer that will give you a high Cost per lead , you ll be better off with your ROI. The thumb rule for PPC is spend .30 per click for a product that gives you US$ 30 profit…Use the above equation for products with less profit . Ideally you should not do PPC if you are marketing a product which gives you less than USD 25 as profit…you ll never make good money that will justify your investment in PPC……it also depends on the niche of the product , number of searches for that product etc.

I agree and disagree. You can’t just put a $0.3 cpc on a $30 offer. Oftentimes $30 offer are saturated and if you bid low then you’ll never get clicks. It depends on what the offer you are promoting. And also I think although email and zip submits pay low, they convert very well and it’s feasible for anyone to make $100 in 10 days w/PPC campaigns on it

I actually love email/zip submits and even some downloads, they convert pretty good if you have a good landing page before the offer page. Find cheap clicks for the certain submit, I find they convert anywhere from 7-10% if done right you could be making up to or more than a buck for every $.50 spent. You most likely won’t get rich from them but I keep many running as extra coin to test out the big boys.

Actually that conversion ratio was for download software which is usually a bit higher for some of them than email submits. Email/zip can fetch higher.

yeah I head that. But I never have promoted download softwares and I just dont like promoting those..

I think that it depends where you choose to advertise and what you are advertising. I was successful with certain campaigns and not with others. If you choose to advertise on a website like Facebook or MySpace the ads have to be somewhat tempting to their audience so thats something to remember too.

One day I’d like to try PPC, but at the moment I just don’t think I’m qualified enough to take the risk, and to put it bluntly I don’t have any money to waste.
