I Don’t Just Get It

by Melvin · Jun 3, 2008

I just don’t really get why people are so much obsessed of making money online if they can make more money offline. Sometimes I hear people who say that if they can make a stable living online then they wouldn’t go for the job. Though it sounds good I don’t understand why people don’t want to go out and work and socialize and have friends and have great experiences and tons of adventures.

For me I would really love to have a job outside the internet or offline so I can really test everything and develop myself. Because one thing that an online venture does not develop is personality. Why? Because you’re just in front of your computer. Oftentimes you’re working alone and you’re talking to no one and just like you’re becoming so paranoid because you’re just alone! Yeah, I know working with the comforts of your home is awesome, but I think going outside, meeting different kinds of people and diving out and learning from experiences is just superb. It is something that no other website can teach us.

Right now I’m just 18 and is currently in college. After finishing my studies, of course I won’t leave affiliate marketing, but still I would feel elated to have a job. Having a job is a one thing that I am looking forward in future. I mean a GREAT highpaying job.

You’re right, no one can experience life as it’s supposed to be by sitting in front of his laptop.

Although you can learn a lot from the internet, it will never be like real life.

You are completely right. Making Money Online is great, but you need to go out and mingle with everybody. Gaining experience in the real life will certainly make you feel elated.  Thoughtful ramblings. 🙂

I like your point here… But I think you haven’t really realized why most people want to live online rather than getting a job.. Reasons oftentimes are deeper than what you may think of. Maybe because I think missing your family is just too much for them, something most cannot really handle…btw, just my opinion

I think its just because people are lazy, instead of making 300-400 $ per day they are all about making 10-20$ with adsense lol.

Btw do something about the text color of your comment form 🙂 it’s all white.

I dont think most people do it to not actually have a real offline job, I think they do it because of the time it allows them for other things in life. Examples would be the ability to travel and work, spend time with family, not have a work schedule. Those would be the reasons why I would love to have a business online. Right now I am in the real world, working the real job, with the real people, and its good and all, but the thought of having my own schedule and planning on my own day is something I dream about.

I do believe the potential in making money online, but what if one day internet closes itz door (anything can happen).

So it is always better to go for a Job and also make money online… even if you lose one,you have other thing left to support yourself!

True … i don’t understand people and the hype of living of the Internet. I think you hit the nail … i agree “real” jobs offer rewarding prospect like friendship, socializing etc and a pension

Hi! Nice post! My mom made the same point when she insisted that I go get a Nanny so that I could get a job (and she didn’t mean an online job). A job that entails me to socialize, etc. That was her mistake when she became a mother, she left her real job to be with her kids (us) although she didn’t start anything online or something haha! Anyway, my point is.. It wasn’t that hard to ge a decent nanny before BUT NOW there are no decent nanny! hehe! So mommies have no choice but to make money in the comforts of their home (whether they like it or not). I personally agree with you that it’s better if you have a real job, but I guess I have to earn online if I want to help out with the expenses. (even a little)

@chandler I see your point here… Like you, I have also been dreaming that I can somehow get a highpaying online job, but i just feel that it might somehow affect me and my relationships with people
