Most Blog Fail at This, Marketing!
Posted on February 07, 2010 by Melvin
Ever wonder why 90% of the blogs just can’t get off the ground? Simple, they suck at marketing!
Because of the nature of blogging and what it really is, a lot of people doing blogging just couldn’t really make it. Blogging is defined originally as a hobby, something that’s like a personal diary where you can enjoy doing it without needing to spend that much of time. So up until now this is the stumbling block that most newbie bloggers and even intermediate ones face.
Almost always, the case is that bloggers don’t want to learn marketing at all. Selling sucks isn’t it? And besides you never dreamed to be a sales person throwing up stupid sales pitches to your audience. That being said, it‘s safe to conclude that bloggers don‘t think marketing is essential for the success of their blogs.
If you‘ve been reading this blog for quite some time, you always hear me say that blogging is internet marketing. That is true and your success depends on how competent you are with marketing. Some people who want to learn it even pay for those expensive internet marketing courses and programs while others simply just try to learn it themselves.
In blogging, however you really don’t need to know each and every stuff about internet marketing, you only need a few of them to get started. Coupled with building relationships, good marketing can really skyrocket your blog/brand/profile w/c would get you more traffic and obviously the end result is income.

partly yes, but overall no. If I had not written the eBook, I probably would’ve sent it as email newsletters to the list.

Blog Marketing is difficult task for me. Make somebody else to see or read our blog, really hard work. I’m not a good writer, i can’t make good content. Someone said that for SEO, content is the king. So, be a good writer, and i think i can’t fullfil this requirement.

well its tough and I get you but I am an advocate of practice, so just continue writing. You’d be amazed on how much you’re improving, believe me. It also doesn’t harm to use word processors like Microsoft Word to see what are your most common errors.

From tv to banners and getting radio commercials and creating a feel by donating money to the local baseball team, Marketing does it all, and advertising is a small part of that.

This is great if you really are into making money out of blogging, but for someone who blog for personal reasons with even having knowledge that they can make money out of it. This can be a start to learn how to.
For marketer alike, blogging is really is, internet marketing.

I think it takes time for people to realise that you have to learn how to market your blog in a way in order to do anything for profit and make it work. The middle ground really is where it’s at and I’m just learning that. I’m still learning how to better my blog and know almost nothing about marketing.
Never hurts to learn though. What do you think?

It’s true and the best way to learn anything is diving out there and getting experience. And hopefully learning from that experience

Yep, this is something that some of us might no being aware of. Blogging and marketing is something connected and at the moment you separate them, you lost one portion (from my opinion).
That’s it. Don’t ever forget to focus on your marketing!

If you blog about blogging, you not only have a ready audience, you will also get their response as soon as you post your topics. Bloggers, being online most of the time and adept in writing, can be considered the best market a blogger can have. They visit your blog and post comments as well.
Let me say that my target market is like that of bloggers. They are also always online and I should say they stay longer online than most bloggers and really have time to respond to blogs, but they don’t. You might say, that I am not rightly marketing or promoting my blog because I am not getting the number of comments like you do. I further say, try them and see what I mean. They are the i-cafe owners.
