Look, We’re Not Idiots Here

Note: This is a spontaneous rugged post with no proof-reading whatsoever..

Internet marketing is all about sales pitches and good copywriting skills. Those who make a good amount of income as a marketer usually do things right, good sales talk, then proper marketing. But 90% of people just don’t. I’m really very pissed off on how a lot of marketers do hardselling the ugly way. Of course hard selling is theoretically ugly but exaggerating it makes it then 1000% more ugly.

I have read a lot of pitches, either in a sales page, squeeze page, peel away, or just pop up javascript. They don’t lack the selling point, what they lack is realism. Most of them are thrashy and are fool in expecting prospective customers to buy their stuffs.

worthfreeYou probably have seen a package wherein you would pay the main product for $37 and then get bonus packages worth $5999 right? Well isn’t it hyperbolic? You’re not giving away that value of items, would you? Who’s fool would do a hardwork, get paid $37 per item, and give away  $5999 value per item? None! That’s because it’s totally untrue.

Another is the bullcrap use of strikethrough where the price starts at $1000 and for some reason, goes down up to $10 w/some bullshit reason. Ok, the use  of strikethrough is nice, in fact I have used it a lot in this blog and some sales page. But must be used in a realistic manner…

The problem with marketers today especially in the MMO niche is that most of them play things wrong. Look, you’re marketing your product, ebook, whatever to a fellow marketer. Whatever tactic you have, the other end knows it completely well! Well don’t market to me, I’m a marketer. What say you?

Well, that’s the problem where people struggle to make money online. That is why marketer selling marketer usually unless he is some famous dude well, you don’t get a piece of penny from him.
So how can you really sell to those marketer? My guess or suppose my way, is to go under the radar where you find out what those marketer is lacking in and fix it in.
For example, most blogger don’t get much opt-in rate, well… you can introduce them tools that will increase their opt-in.
I know not all will be buy from you… that is why bonuses should be relevant which is to say… “here’s the tools you need and if you buy from me, I will send you my bonus which will tell you how to use it effectively”
See that… that’s called “relevant core selling.”
Like those $5999 bonus… seriously that’s out of no where.

You are right. The bonus just act as the desert to flush out more customer to you.

People need to do research before buying stuffs.

Personally I don’t fall for all that crap, and I don’t really like those sites that have popups and peel away ads and some that use both or even more. I find them a turn off and won’t bother to come back.

The problem is that they see people like John Chow saying how it increased their subscriptions by 300% and then get sucked in.

Haha, that’s the problem with pro blogger, like John Chow is base on his way of marketing to increase the opt-in, but average blogger without the marketing but with the tool, seriously there is no way it will take effect.

Melvin nice and a true article. We are not idiots but many other who are on Internet are. They are very new to MMO and all kind of stuff. They do not understand how the seller is deceiving people.

Only we bloggers can point out the bad things on Internet and warn our dumb friends.

Some marketers are aware of what you’ve elaborated above but the funny thing is that they are not changing their strategies. It only proves that few are good in marketing and few have the capacity to formulate a working strategy.

I think they’re dumb; treating visitors impersonally when it should be otherwise. :-)

I agree with you Melvin. However, with kinda overexposure in market, its foolish to consider your readers foolish buyers anyways. I would say, we better believe our readers are smart to choose us over others & I am damn thankful for that. What do you say, Melvin?
