March Traffic, Earning Details & Announcements

So it’s been a long time since I have done this one here so I will be writing one now. The reasons why I don’t do the usual monthly recap are: 1) my blog isn’t really wrecking high revenue numbers, 2) I don’t have the time to do this. But now I have the time so I just thought I would put an effort to do a recap of what has happened the past month. So here it is without much further fluff:
Traffic & Growth Related Details
- Alexa Rank – 144,726
- Technorati – 55,363
- Average Uniques – 220
- Average Pageviews – 620
- RSS – 150
- Pagerank – 0
The blog stat-wise has actually declined from almost everything except feed subscribers. I’ve been working so hard on getting returning visitors by forum interaction and commenting around. The pageviews is more than 2 times of what the average unique visitor is. Maybe it’s because of some folks who keep refreshing the page because they are waiting for a new post, LOL> 
As usual, Pagerank is still 0 as I just implemented the canonicalization thing last month and I am hoping that it would get something on the next update.
Blog Revenue Details
- Text, Sponsored Links – $30
- 125X125 Banner Sponsorship – $80
- 468X60 – $50
- Paid Reviews – $50
As usual the blog almost had a sold out advertising spot (despite me refusing to
use OIO). The text links are so cheap ($5) that a lot of dudes on digitalpoint forum don’t even ask for stats. The popular banners at the sidebar is sold out as well. The premium banner at the top has 2 rotations each up for $25 and fortunately it’s taken also (thanks to the reverse funnel guys, 
). I got 2 paid reviews this month and I gave discount on that one. Yes, I give discounts! The economy is tough so I understand that a lot of marketers are skeptic to spend. As much as possible, I give them 10-50% on the first month so they could decide whether the exposure fits well. Don’t be a moron dude, don’t sell your ad spot for $40/month if your Alexa is over 500,000 and you just get 1-2 comments per post.
As this blog is relatively small, I don’t spend much expenses here more than just the hosting and the flip-flops I use while typing here. Unfortunately I have 5-6 other websites that aren’t making any revenue as of now so the income is good to cover up other expenses from failed investments startup investments.
What’s up this April & May?
Well I have done a couple of guest posts on different types of blogs w/different types of audience. I conclude it’s doing good actually because it kept my traffic steady while my blog is in lull. I still have about 5 more guest posts to issue so just look around me on other blogs. Also, you may want to greet me. April 21 is going to be my 18th birthday and I am planning to hold a small but very nice contest here in Melvin Blog wherein everyone can almost win! Watch out for that! Anyway if you would like to send me something, like a car or a yacht just use a contact form. But don’t worry I accept small gifts like shirts, usb drives, steaks or any tangibles. LOL, just joking. You’re presence is more than enough!

Happy Early Birthday!! Trust me, 18 will feel like every other year..lol
But it’s good that you know when to sell high or not..I’ve seen people with only 10,000 pageviews selling reviews on their site for 115 dollars..

Thanks, yep I am actually surprised you’re not really into monetizing w/regards to StandoutBlogger.com but I guess maybe luck is into one of the factors for me.

its not the luck its the timing and place. Whoever gets the right timing and right exposure gets it… The reason why I say it is not luck because some guys do it all the time … Were they just born lucky or they know the tricks

Hmm! Nice earning. My earning is currently as empty as desert. I am trying to sell my Banner Ads @ 10$. I have good alexa ranking and PR. But do not know why does not it sell.
Do you have any suggestions. May be you can make you next post on this topic.

Hmmm, not sure but there are a lot of factors to consider about it. Your situation is my situation about 4 months ago when my blog has also had the same traffic as today.

Hey Melvin, Thanks for all the good wishes you sent my way. But as far as you thinking I should take more time off from blogging, I’ve got just one thing to say to you my friend. No way Jose’…after reading this post you just put up you’re off and running. If I were to slow down now you would probably take off and dominate the internet!!! lol It’s on now my friend, lets see who can be the first to get at least a Page Rank 1 in Google’s Page Rank before next year ??!!! I don’t usually do discounts for clients unless it is more than just one thing. But if a client is looking for long term advertisement discount is a possibility. Curious why don’t you use OIO ?
